Wendy woke up and quickly realized that she was in a cage. She chided herself for being so stupid. Sure, sneaking into the soon-to-be-opened circus had seemed like a fun idea at the time, but now that she had been caught she regretted her decision. She made to stand up and felt the tug of the metal collar around her neck. She also realized that she was completely naked. What the hell?
“Ah, you’re awake!” came a voice from the shadows beyond the bars.
“Let me go now, you fucker,” she snarled at the figure.
“My, you’re a feisty one. I think you’ll make a perfect addition to our little troupe.”
Wendy had no idea what he was talking about, and was about to shout something back when the collar around her neck began to tingle. Her body spasmed as a strange sensation washed over her, and her mind became flooded with alien, primal instincts.
“Wha… whur…?” she began, blinking her eyes rapidly in confusion as the sensations and instincts intensified. She could barely concentrate on what the figure said next.
“Welcome to the circus.”
