There’s a blog devoted to Gray Morrow’s work where this particular version of the image appears. The image itself is part of, and may have been cropped from, the artwork from the cover of Perry Rhodan #73: Spaceship Of Ancestors.

Nun contemplates the divine
This artwork appears on the cover of several diverse editions of a Japanese manga called Shigure by artist Ken Moonlight (ケン月影 題名). The cover illustration of this edition (after some cropping of Japanese text) seems to have been the source for our version of the artwork. Two different editions (with slightly different versions of this cover art) can be seen here in thumbnail, along with our cropped version of the artwork.
