damsellover:

The Strangler of the Swamp (1946) is one of the more highly regarded of the “poverty row” horror films of the 1940’s.  Directed by Frank Wisbar, I found it dull, but reasonably well shot given the tiny budget and limited shooting schedule.  It also starred the beautiful former Miss America Rosemary LaPlanche and the fantastic Charles Middleton of Ming the Merciless fame.  If you’re looking for something different over Halloween give it a shot, and see what you think.

This artwork appears on the cover of several diverse editions of a Japanese manga called Shigure by artist Ken Moonlight (ケン月影 題名). The cover illustration of this edition (after some cropping of Japanese text) seems to have been the source for our version of the artwork. Two different editions (with slightly different versions of this cover art) can be seen here in thumbnail, along with our cropped version of the artwork.
